Other Info:
The track was originally cinder with 6 lanes and an 8 lane straight. In the early 2000s it was in poor condition and fairly rutted and overgrown. The outline of grassed over PV and LJ/TJ runways were clearly visible inside the D of the top bend and the outline of a JT runway was also visible next to the SP circle inside the first bend. None of the other field-event facilities were really usable. A diagram of the cinder track can be seen here. The track was upgraded to synthetic in 2004 with 6 lanes all round and opened in May 2004 as part of a complete revamp of the sporting facilities at the site which centres on a new Sports Centre. The track was reduced to 200m with 6 lanes some time in the late 2010s when the all weather sports pitch in the infield was extended which meant the loss of one straight and one bend.
