Other Info:
The track is not shown on the A-Z or OS map. It is sometimes referred to as Altrincham which is nearby. It is still regularly used and the lanes are marked out and there are tentative plans to upgrade it to a synthetic track. A world record for a 50km track race was set on the track by Jeff Norman in 1980. A performance in the UK 24 hour women's all-time list was also set here in 1982. The infield was a cinder hard-play area but this has been removed and so long throws are now possible although there is currently no JT runway although work on providing one is planned.
