Other Info:
This track was around the ground used by Sutton United FC and was the odd distance of 396y. The ground was originally called the Adult School Sports Ground and opened on 4th May 1912. It changed its name to Borough Sports Ground in 1935 when it was bought by the council. A sign at the ground says that it was presented by Thomas Wall in 1913 with full facilities for the Sutton Adult School so maybe the track was there then. It was often referred to as being in Collingwood Road but also in Gander Green Lane as in the official address. The track was used by Sutton & Cheam AC (now Sutton & District AC) until the early 1980s when they moved to Sutton Arena as the football club were keen to develop the ground. Most of the track is still visible with only the final bend having been concreted over to make way for a covered stand. A LJ runway can also still be seen. There are some aerial pictures of the ground on the Sutton United FC website ('Ground photos' link).
