This cinder track belonged to Southampton University and was about 200 yards west of Junction 5 of the M27 on the Wellington Sports Ground on the northern edge of Southampton and south of Eastleigh. It was lost in the mid 1980s when the motorway was built directly over it. The postal boundary between Southampton & Eastleigh actually seems to be the M27 with the site of the track seeming to fall just within Southampton although there is a Wellington Sports Club, Stoneham Lane, EASTLEIGH, SO50 9HT who are based in a pavilion immediately north of the M27 on what remains of the Wellington Sports Ground.
