Other Info:
This brand new track opened for use in 2022 and was offically opened in October 2022 by Commonwealth Gold medallist Nicholas Brett, who won the Lawn Bowls Triples in 2022. It forms part of the Redwing Sports Hub which, as well as the track, consists of a sports pavilion and football pitches. It is sited adjacent to a runway of the former RAF Debden airfield which is now referred to as Carver Barracks which is an adjacent British Army base and hence the track name. The track is officially owned by the Army and associated with the adjacent Carver Barracks but is also available for public use and was part funded by the Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces Covenant Fund and Uttlesford District Council.
