Other Info:
The track was originally cinder and built in the 1960s. It was upgraded to synthetic in the summer of 1996 and has an Amtrak SW non porous sandwich system surface. It was officially opened on 22nd June by Rt. Hon. Andrew Smith MP although it was open for training a bit before then. The new track was sited slightly further away from the pavilion to leave room for a stand which has passed planning approval stage. There is however a tea bar with a viewing area within the pavilion at the track. Wheelchair mounting points for throws are provided and there is full disabled access to the track. There is a large car park with space for coaches.
