Other Info:
This track is within the National Squash Centre at SportCity in Eastlands - the same site as the City of Manchester Stadium which was used for the 2002 Commonwealth Games. The main contractor was Shepherd with Bernhards responsible for laying the Mondo synthetic surface and Athletic Markings Ltd. responsible for the line markings. The track has a 4 lane 200m circuit with an 8 lane 60m sprint straight in the middle. The track surface was installed around December 2001 and the line marking was done in January 2002. The track forms the indoor athletics centre for the North West region of the English Institute of Sport and it is believed that the facility will be permanently available throughout the year. The hall in which the track is also marked out courts for badminton, netball and basketball. The first meeting on the track was a Sale Harriers Manchester open meeting on 16th Nov 2002.
