Other Info:
The track was built in 1991 and the main contractor was Blakedown and it originally had 5 lanes all round and was believed to be 166.53m in length. The lines were marked by Athletic Markings Ltd. and completed on 27th August 1991. The track base (or shockpad) is of the pre-formed variety - i.e. delivered to site in rolls and then glued to the macadam although the top surface is the usual texture spray. The track itself is coloured red and the infield which is of the same surface type is coloured green and is a football pitch although the pitch touchlines overlap with the outer edge of the outside lane of the track. The more northerly straight is extended slightly to the east to accommodate 50m races. In August 2001 the track was resurfaced by Fox Sports Surfaces and a 6th lane added by inserting an extra lane inside the original inside lane. The line markings were again done by Athletic Markings Ltd. The distance around lane 1, 20cm from the inside line (there is no curb), is 159.934m so virtually 160m. There are staggered start markings for 50m in white, for 80m in yellow and for 100m in blue. The lanes are 1.05m wide. The 2 lane LJ runway was also retextured. The school is for Japanese expatriots and is located in West Acton.
