Other Info:
The track was around an all-weather football pitch and had four straights with near square corners. It is believed to have been built in the 1980s. The bends were slightly banked. The home straight was slightly downhill. In its later days the outer two lanes of the home straight were also uneven as the roots of the trees just outside the track had started to push through. The length of the track was thought to have been 200m although it may have been slightly less. In 2002 the track was lost when work started on completely redeveloping the site for a new Ferndale Sports Centre. It seems that the new facility will open in 2003 but will not contain any provision for athletics.
