Other Info:
The track is owned by the Army and is within the confines of the barracks and so is not open to the public. The Northern Ireland Army Champs were held here on 20th May 1999.
Elsewhere in Lisburn a track used to be temporarily marked onto a gravel hard play area at what was Lisburn Leisure Centre and what is now Lagan Valley Leisure Plex, Lisburn Leisure Park, Warren Park, LISBURN, BT28 1LP (Tel 028 9267 2121, Fax 028 9267 4322). There was however thought to be a permanent long jump pit. Half of this arena is apparently now a car park and is no longer used. Work started on building the Leisure Plex in September 1997 and it opened in November 1999 at a total cost of £12 million.
