Other Info:
Two tracks in Kingston are shown in the 1962 AW list of cinder tracks. The first is at Kingsmeadow and this is almost certainly the other one. It is believed that Kingstonian FC played on the land where the track was until 1920 when they hopped over the fence to create their new ground and the old pitch became some sort of track. The football ground lasted until 1989 and was known as the Richmond Road ground. A smaller than standard oval is shown on a 1990 OS map in the location where Earle Gardens is now and to the left of this the football ground is shown where Archer Close is now. Curiously a 1984 OS map shows the football ground but not the track. A mid 1980s A-Z also shows just the football ground so the track may have been built over before the football ground, probably by the early 1980s. Surrey AC had their training ground on Richmond Road by at least 1908 and meetings were held there but it is not known whether this was the same place or the status of the track used.
