This cinder track was 5 laps to the mile and was on the grounds of Christ's Hospital which is an independent school. It was built in about 1949/50 and lasted until at least April 1999 but was replaced later in 1999 by a car park. At about the same time an astroturf pitch behind the car park was built over what were previously tennis courts. The only evidence now that there was a track here is a DT cage which was external to the track and is immediately west of the astroturf pitch. There is also a redgra arena behind the astroturf pitch on which an approximate 200m track is marked out in the summer.
