Other Info:
Hampden Park which is the home of Queen's Park FC and stages Scottish international football matches opened on 31st October 1903 with a football match between Queen's Park and Celtic. As was common in those days, there was a cinder track around the ground which was believed to have been used for athletics meetings in the early days. The track is visible on an aerial picture from June 1995 and is believed to have existed in full until at least late 1996 when the ground started to be extensively revamped. The work finished in 1999 although the ground is still oval shaped and there is still a perimeter track although the width of it has been reduced somewhat.
