Other Info:
A track is shown on an 1894 OS Map at the North Durham Cricket Ground. The 1914 Athletic News Athletic Directory mentions a fixture here with the running events taking place on grass and cycle ones on a well banked ash oval track. The track was presumably grassed over as the ground still exists today although the pavilion burnt down in late 2000.
