Other Info:
The stadium opened in 1990 and staged the World Student Games in 1991 and is the largest athletics stadium in the UK. There was an indoor straight underneath the main stand. The infield was used by Sheffield FC who are reported to be the oldest football club in the world. The stadium closed on 29th Sep 2013 and by January 2014 had started to be demolished as is shown in this picture. The National Indoor Athletics Centre is adajcent to where the stadium was located.
