Other Info:
A squarish oval "Running Track" is clearly shown on the OS 1:2,500 large scale map from 1940-1970s. Historic aerial imgery suggest was grassed over by at least 2000. The outline of it can still be seen on current aerial pictures which show the ground as a grass pitch used for cricket by Victory CC or football depending on the time of the year. A track in Municipal Sports Ground, Osmaston Park Road, Allenton was in use in the 1970s. This may however have been the former name of the current Moorways synthetic track which is very close to this location.
