Other Info:
There was apparently some sort of cinder running track on Hearsall Common by the 1950s. It was south of the road and to the east of the fairground at about grid ref. SP 315784 and was orientated with the straights East-West. On an aerial picture from the Millennium Map www.getmapping.com, the faintest outline of something parallel to the (Hearsall) road and closer to Earlsdon Avenue than the fairground can be seen. There was definitely a cycle speedway track just to the north of the road until at least the late 1960s.
