Other Info:
An indoor meeting was first held here on 11th Dec 1957 under the auspices of Woodford Green AC with 3 subsequent meetings held until the closure of the RAF station in 1960. The facility is thought to have been temporary. A small part of the RAF Chigwell site was however used for ATC cadet training after 1960 until late 1970s. The area is now right beside the M11 motorway and is partly covered by a David Lloyd Sports Centre and partly by a small wildlife sanctuary.
