Other Info:
This was a redgra track around a floodlit all-weather football/hockey pitch and was built in 1990 as a training track. It was reported to be slightly longer than 400m by about 10-15 metres. It replaced one which was about 100 metres away and is now the site of a housing village. Part of the surface of the original track was used in the construction of this one. Prior to the opening of the synthetic track at Canterbury High School in 2001 the track was in very good condition, had full lane markings in the summer and Invicta East Kent AC had a clubroom in the pavilion at the track. However the track then became rather redundant and in 2005 it was lost when the synthetic pitch in the infield was extended to cover the track as well. The university sports facilities are managed from the Sports Centre, University of Kent, CANTERBURY, CT2 9BP.
